The Refuge

"God is our refuge and strength,
a help always near in times of great trouble."--Psalms 46:1

The youth ministry at DFUMC has adopted the name "The Refuge" to show that it is a safe space to learn and to grow together with other students.  We are not afraid of tough questions here and many of our meetings are discussion based so that we can help students understand the Word of God better.  We also have a lot of fun at The Refuge.  Crazy games, fun events and retreats, and time just to hang out with other Christians are all things you will find here.  We want The Refuge house to be YOUR space to live, to learn, and to grow together!

Encounter Youth Retreat - Nov 17-19

Encounter is a weekend retreat designed for 6th - 12th grade students where everyone will ENCOUNTER God, and each in a very unique way. This retreat will offer passionate worship, relevant Bible study and a meaningful time with other teens at Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island. In John 14:6, Jesus tells us, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." What if we use this ONE life we've been given to live unashamedly for the ONE and only true God? What if we worship unashamedly the ONE who redeemed us? What if we show others the ONE way to eternal life? What if God showed up and changed ONE life...yours?

Illuminate Worship Service

We love worshipping with our larger church family!  That's why, once a month, our youth and adults come together to worship.  This service gives adults a look into what goes on in our youth ministry and allows a space for people who simply want to worship in a contemporary style.  This isn't a youth service, but many of our youth are involved in the band.  We see this as the Refuge's way to lead in the charge of modern worship of a great big God!

Join us every 4th Sunday (unless otherwise noted here!)
